Sony's wall-mount offering is one of the most affordable large-screen TV offerings out there. The 65-inch XBR65X900F isn't the most powerful large-screen TV around, but for the size and price it's absolutely top-notch. Whether you're looking for the best TV for gaming, HDR, or high-def picture quality, this is a standout. I've been looking forward to this for a long time, and I'm glad to finally see it available.
I can't help it: I'm a bit jaded by the Dolby Atmos crowd. I've heard some of the best and worst implementations of the technology, and I honestly can't tell the difference. This nRC1602 is no exception. It doesn't stick out as the best, but there's not much I can say that would encourage you to go out and spend more on a Dolby Atmos setup. It's not a bad product, but it doesn't feel the need to 'wow' me or do anything else for that matter.
There are two HDMI inputs, which means you can connect a second TV in the room without having to run a switch box through your audio wiring, but I doubt you'll need that capability. There are four HDMI outputs, including one for the optical S/PDIF, three for the 5.1, and one for the 7.1 - which also has the controls for the center channel speaker. You can also run the TV's headphone output through an amplifier. There is no optical out on the set, but it will connect to a receiver, if desired.
